Hello Citizens,
Recently, we held a strategic working session on the UK Innovation Zones & Freeports, centered on how Freeports can move from policy intent to operational execution using a shared digital infrastructure layer.
UK Engagements & Strategic Progress
We met with the British Deputy High Commissioner to mark the introduction of new UK–partner Free Trade Agreement regulations and to advance discussions on how these regulatory developments can support upcoming Freeport pilots.
Together, these discussions represent a concrete step forward in keeping regulatory momentum with deployable, execution-ready systems.

Freeports & Innovation Zones
Our approach with UK Freeports is intentionally pragmatic and phased: prove the model, then power it at scale.
Our Phase 1 Pilot deploys Sovrn as the digital layer for citizen ID, city services, and payments infrastructure within a pilot Freeport.
While Phase 2 establishes a physical hub and expands Sovrn’s capabilities into cross-border investments and partnerships.
Our goal is a credible first UK pilot in 2026, with select Freeports and London innovation districts as leading candidates.
Broader UK Context
Across the UK, our work is focused on:
Identifying real testbeds where a shared digital layer simplifies access to city and zone services, positioning Sovrn as a connective infrastructure linking citizens, service providers, and capital to zones through verified identity and compliant digital processes.
Further updates will follow as pilots and partnerships progress.
Onward,
Aashraya & Team Sovrn
